👤 About Me
German standards. Spanish reality. Explained clearly.
For over 27 years, I have supported German and international clients in the Canary Islands. As a fully qualified German master electrician (Elektrotechniker-Meister) and officially licensed Electricista Autorizado, I combine German quality standards with the technical and legal requirements in Spain.

From Germany to Spain
As a fully qualified German master electrician, I was confident that I knew electrical engineering inside and out. I had already gained experience abroad in Africa and Eastern Europe. But when I arrived in Tenerife in 1999, I quickly realized that Spanish electrical engineering works completely different in many respects. That very experience has shaped my view of electrical engineering ever since. Anyone willing to keep learning makes better decisions — whether as an electrician, a builder, or a property owner.
I had to learn to question familiar ways of thinking and to engage in depth with Spanish regulations (REBT), local working practices, and the requirements of energy suppliers.

I completed my training as an EIB systems integrator (today known as KNX) at an early stage, and I’ve been working with intelligent building automation as well as modern control and bus systems for many years.
🌍 International experience
Before becoming self-employed in Tenerife, I worked, among other things:
- for one year in Zaire (today the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa),
- for around a year and a half in a leading role on major projects in Budapest, Hungary.
This international experience still helps me today to look at technical solutions not just from a German perspective, but from an international one as well.

Why I share my knowledge publicly
With my book “Elektrik in Spanien” and my YouTube channel, I want to explain technical topics in a clear way and help people avoid typical mistakes in building projects in Spain.
You don’t need to know all the Spanish regulations. It’s enough to have someone by your side who does.
For over 27 years, I have helped private individuals, businesses, and institutions make safe, code-compliant decisions — independently, and explained in a way that makes sense.
